Day 2 of SNOW!

I measured a few different areas of the snow that fell yesterday -- here is the deepest area that I measured. The snow ranged from 7 to almost 10 inches deep throughout the yard. Wow!
This morning, Owen and I made a real snowman in the back yard. Here are some Owen-style poses with Mr. Snowman.
Finally, Eric did make it out for a little while today, and was a little happier to be out there. :) I think that his unhappiness yesterday was more about not being used to the snowsuit that keeps him mostly immobile, rather than the cold or snow.

SNOW!!! updated! twice!

Wow! Can you believe we actually got real snow down here?? They say it will continue all day, so we might actually get a few inches of snow to make a snowman!

UPDATED AGAIN: Here are a few more pictures of the kids playing in the snow...Eric didn't like it much, so we were only able to make a small snowman. Then, Owen and I went back out during Eric's nap and made bigger ones! :)

Introducing Parker Scout....

Melissa and Teddy had their baby today! Parker Scout is her name. She is adorable, and small, at 6 lbs 15 oz! I'm sure they'll post lots of pictures on their Facebook accounts and Melissa's blog, but here is one quick picture of her pretty face! Doesn't she look just like Patrick did??

Happy Birthday Eric!

It's Eric's 1st Birthday! Yay!

I can't believe a whole year has passed already, and yet it also seems like Eric
has been a part of our family for forever! Here are some pictures of Eric's birthday celebrations..

Eric walking

Eric's development towards walking has been a completely different process than Owen's was. He started taking independent steps right at 10 months, and has been slowly progressing towards full walking since then.

Between 10 and 11 months, he could take 3-4 steps at a time before falling down, and mostly only tried to walk when crossing a short space between the couch and a person or something else close.

Between 11 and 12 months, he started to take a few more steps at a time, could re-adjust and keep from falling down (some of the time!), and started walking out into the middle of the room or standing up in the middle of the room to walk without a particular goal in mind other than walking.

Today, I would say he is definitely a walker, despite the fact that he falls down a lot, but it is hard to pinpoint when I would say it happened. :) Here is a video of him walking around his toys this morning.
