Thanks to his fondness for Blue's Clues, Owen will sometimes announce, out of the blue and related to nothing that we are doing at the time, that he needs a _________. He always expects us to know exactly what he is talking about and how to make it. :) We've made "contraptions" that wave hello and goodbye, "signs" (which are really name labels for people and objects), an "experiment" to create a tornado, and our latest: a "box car." Shea thought Owen meant a real box car, like kids make until he started saying we needed to find a box to make it. I found a small box, and he said -- how will I fit in it? So, we figured out that he wanted a box he could sit in. The resulting car we made looked pretty good until Owen asked where the handles were to hold it, and demonstrated what he meant. I then realized which Blue's Clues show he was getting this from, and that he wanted to be able to walk around holding the car around his middle, so I had to cut a hole in the bottom of the car AFTER we had already assembled it. ;-P All weekend it has been a series of requests for additional cardboard items -- a school bus, a gas station and Buzz Lightyear wings "like Elijah has" (Owen's friend).

Eric playing

Eric prefers to play standing up most of the time, but I keep forgetting to take a video of it. Here he is getting a book out of a play bin. Just after I stopped the video, he pulled the bin over to get to all the books at once. :)

Eric has his own portrait

Just so you don't think that we only take pictures of Eric in clothes that match Owen's pictures, here is one of Eric looking cute all on his own. :)

Do they look alike?

There seems to be a bit of debate on how alike or different Owen and Eric look. Here are your side by side comparisons, finally posted. They are each 6 months old in these pictures.
